Born at Burma Camp military hospital and raised with roots in both the Ashanti and Central Regions, Bongofari developed an early passion for music. He formally trained at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) sound engineering school, which laid the professional groundwork for a career behind the mixing console.

For many years, he worked full‑time as a recording and sound engineer, honing his craft alongside legendary Ghanaian mentors such as Ebo Taylor , Gyedu Blay Ambolley....

2010 – A Pivotal Moment

A turning point came when Bongofari met the legendary Jamaican reggae icon Jimmy Cliff during Cliff's visit to Ghana in 2010. That encounter, captured in a personal photograph, profoundly reshaped his artistic vision.

Inspired by Cliff's timeless message and stage presence, Bongofari decided to fully commit to his musical career.
